Every year NATAL holds a special women’s event in which various aspects of trauma due to national conflict and terror are addressed from a woman’s perspective. Taking place in Tel Aviv, the evening is based around a panel of special guests who speak and share their stories and experiences as they regard the chosen theme of each year’s event. The theme of 2016’s event was “Transcending Borders” in which a panel of female humanitarian aid workers shared their stories from conflict and disaster zones around the world. In 2015 the theme focussed on female IDF combat soldiers. As it was the year immediately following Operation Protective Edge, much of the focus of the evening was on the women who were on the frontline of the conflict, the traumatic situations they endured, and their message of hope for future peace. All ticket sales and proceeds of the event go towards supporting NATAL’s direct programs and services.
The night comes to a close with a special musical performance by well known Israeli singers. Past performers have included singers Gali Atari and Yehudit Ravitz.
