To strengthen resilience across society, NATAL works with businesses, non-profits, schools, and other organizations impacted by national trauma. Our community programs foster mental health awareness, resilience-building, and collaborative initiatives that support employees, clients, and community members alike. NATAL also engages in outreach to educate and equip these organizations with tools to create supportive environments, addressing trauma on a larger scale and helping to rebuild communities through collective healing and growth.
At the core of our Community Resilience programming are the support groups and workshops designed for family members of those dealing with post-trauma. Our years of expertise, based on an ecological approach, have shown that it is equally important to address the secondary trauma and difficulties of the “second circle” of post-trauma, the spouses and partners, children, parents and siblings of those carrying an invisible wound.
A crucial piece of NATAL’s work alongside treating trauma is building resiliency.
Even when we are actively faced with collectively and personally traumatic situations, we MUST find the space to re-build. We must invest the time to heal and grow and develop skills of resiliency so that we can continue to face inevitable challenges, and so we can lean on one another as the fate of our trauma is destined to be collective.
